LUNG disease sufferers are being offered advice to ensure they stay healthy over winter.
The NHS Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group has said people with lung conditions, collectively known as COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), should ensure their house is warm and they have had a flu jab, have stopped smoking and are eating well and staying active, in a bid to ward off illness.
“Taking simple action now to manage their condition over winter could help patients avoid them getting ill and a possible stay in hospital if their condition is severe,” said a spokeswoman.
