CHRISTMAS good wishes have been delivered to Kendal’s Royal Mail workers by South Lakeland District Council chairman Evelyn Westwood.

Coun Westwood visited the town’s sorting office to express her support and encouragement to staff as they embark on their busiest time of the year.

She was shown around the office by manager Neil Clayton and afterwards said: “It was great to meet the dedicated, hard-working Royal Mail postmen and women at the Kendal delivery office and to see first-hand just how much effort they put into delivering at this time of the year.

“I wanted to deliver them a card from the council, let them know how much we appreciate their efforts at this time and to wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
