Preparations are being finalised for this Saturday’s Milnthorpe Christmas on the Green event.
Santa’s grotto will be on the green outside St Thomas's Parish Church and Father Christmas will be seeing the children from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and 5.15pm to 6.30pm.
During that time Milne Moser solicitors will be on the green nearby selling raffle tickets for a donation to the Great North Air Ambulance charity. All prizes have been donated from local businesses.
There will be the traditional lantern procession by the children and then a fancy dress competition with the winners being chosed by this year’s compere, Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron.
From 5pm there will be performances from Joey, the choir from Milnrthorpe Primary School, Rigney Bank ballet school, Steve Lashley and an hour-long Christmas set from Quay Change.
There will be resfreshments available and Milnthorpe Primary will also be selling cakes
