WOODLAND walkers are being asked to look out for a reindeer which escaped from a forestry centre.
Borneo, a seven-year-old adult male, jumped a six foot fence at Whinlatter Forest, near Keswick, after being 'spooked' by a dog which entered its pen.
The animal was one of two reindeer on loan to the forestry centre from the Cairngorms in Scotland.
Barbara Thomson, from the Forestry Commission, which owns the Whinlatter site, said Borneo could survive for some time in the wild.
