AN EDEN Council boss is urging sole traders who run small businesses to check whether they could qualify for rate relief.
David Rawsthorn, director of finance, said: “Relief can be backdated to April 1, 2010, and we have staff who can assist with the application process.”
To qualify, the rateable value of the premises has to be under £12,000. It costs nothing to make an application.
