CUMBRIA Woodlands is inviting people to take a course in understanding bats and their tree roosts.
The one-day course is aimed at arborists, private woodland owners, woodland managers, foresters, and those working regularly with trees.
The aim is to provide a basic practical understanding of bats, how they use woodlands and methods of identifying trees that may contain bat roosts.
Destroying, damaging, or disturbing a bat roost is a criminal offence. The course takes place at Chapel House Woods, Staveley-in-Cartmel, near Newby Bridge, January 21, 10am-4pm.
The cost is £90 per person. To book, call Sarah on 01539 822140 or email sarah@cumbriawoodlands.co.uk
