HUNDREDS lined the streets for the annual two-day Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Fair despite the damp weather.

The Market Square was filled with festive cheer as locals and visitors enjoyed a weekend packed with tombolas, raffles and Christmas treats.

Children were able to visit Santa’s grotto before heading to the fairground for more festive fun.

Sunday welcomed the famous Santa Parade from Booths, which saw Dance Works receive £100 for the best float. The prize was donated by McCarthy and Stone.

The chairman of the Chamber of Trade Robin Sadler said the fair ‘saw Christmas off to a great start.’

“It was a great weekend for all the family to enjoy,” Mr Sadler said.

“The weather was really all over us especially on Sunday, and everyone was soaked. “We would like to thank everyone for staying despite the dreadful weather. It was as busy as ever.”
