THE village of Hawkshead was taken over by festive cheer as the annual Christmas fair drew the crowds with carol singers, magicians and plenty of seasonal food and drink.
More than 50 festive craft and food stalls packed out The Market House, Beatrix Potter Gallery with a selection of stalls ranging from local produce, crafts and homemade cakes, to knitwear, artwork and handmade chocolates.
The streets and alleys were packed full of stalls, with the pubs in the area getting into the spirit offering beers and ales from throughout Cumbria.
Live street music entertained the villagers and tourists, with stilt walkers and street theatre weaving between the crowds and adding to the atmosphere.
