MORE than one in five parents will buy a gift for their child’s teacher this Christmas.
New research has revealed that the tradition of giving gifts to schoolteachers is still alive and well, with parents either buying an individual gift or adding to a class collection.
Ian Williams, director of communications at budgeting account provider thinkmoney, which commissioned the research, said: “At this time of year it’s heartening to see that hard-working parents can still find some spare cash to show their appreciation for their children’s teachers.”
However, class collections were found to be least common in Yorkshire.
