PEOPLE wanting to get out and about and enjoy the great outdoors this winter are invited to join in with the Ramblers’ Festival of Winter Walks.
For more than 25 years avid walkers have stepped out in snow, sleet, rain and under clear winter skies as part of the annual festival.
This year the Ramblers are once again providing free wintery walks led by volunteers from December 21, 2013, to January 5, 2014, for everyone to enjoy.
One of the rambles – Walking the Lake District Boundary – from Greenodd to Grange-over-Sands sets off on Saturday, January 4, at 8am. For details of the 11-mile walk and for full details of the other festive walks on offer visit www.ramblers. org.uk/winterwalks
