STRONG winds could be on their way to Cumbria this weekend and into next week, forecasters are warning.
The Met Office yesterday (Friday) issued a yellow warning for strong winds until 9pm tonight with predictions next week of gales from Wednesday.
The warning covers mostly the northern west coast of Cumbria but the Met Office believe other areas of the county could be affected into next week.
The yellow warning is the lowest warning used by the Met Office but warns that severe weather is 'possible' and could affect people.
The Met Office said: "Yellow means keep an eye on the latest forecast and be aware that the weather may change or worsen, leading to disruption of your plans in the next few days."
