RORY Stewart MP this week met the winner of his annual school Christmas card competition.
Following dozens of entries from primary schools across the constituency, Mr Stewart awarded first place to Eleanor Harkness, three, from Crosby-on-Eden Primary School.
Eleanor's festive design of two Cumbrian sheep wearing santa hats, will be sent out to hundreds of individuals and organisations across his constituency - Penrith and the Border.
Mr Stewart congratulated Eleanor on her artwork and was given a tour of the school by the head teacher, Mrs Sara Varian.
Eleanor and her family will receive a dozen copies of the card to share among family and friends, as well as a £50 voucher for the Rheged Centre as a prize.
Mr Stewart said: “I really liked the Cumbrian twist to Eleanor's charmingly simple design. As always, the standard was incredibly high and it was very difficult to choose an outright winner.
"I would again like to thank everyone who sent in such an array of colourful and festive cards, and want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas."
