A charity team hopes to have raised around £5,000 for breast care across its hospital sites.
The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust (UHMBT) say it is thanks to the generosity of the charity team, local people, staff and governors who have all chipped in.
A charitable raffle has seen tickets sold across the area and the grand draw is being held today.
It will be held at 1pm in the Reception Area, Education Centre, Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
Judith Read, fundraising Co-ordinator for the charity said: “We’re extremely grateful to everyone who has helped. We are hopeful that all 5,000 have been sold but we won’t know the exact amount we have raised until after the day itself.
“The generosity of the public has been fantastic, and we would like to thank all those who sold tickets for us. They have been out and about in all kinds of weather to help us raise the fantastic donation.”
“We would like to thank all those who have sold tickets and those who have bought a ticket – we value each and every one.”
The mayor of Lancaster Councillor June Ashworth will be in attendance at the draw today.
The trust runs hospitals in Kendal, Barrow and Lancaster, among others.
