FISHERIES inspectors have reported no noticeable increase in adult cockle stock levels while taking food hygiene samples in Morecambe Bay, says the quarterly report of the North Western Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority.
The report also says that no cockling activity has been observed on the sands in the last quarter.
Cockling has been banned in Morecambe Bay to allow stocks to recover.
