THE Westmorland Red Squirrel Society has received £2,000 from local train company First TransPennine Express to accelerate conservation work around Morecambe Bay and the southern lakes.
The society aims to connect red squirrel populations in Arnside, Silverdale, Grange-over-Sands, and between Oxenholme and Windermere, with those in the centre of the Lake District national park.
