The family of 18-year-old Dylan Sagar have paid tribute to their 'lovely, handsome boy'.

In a statement they said: "It is with great sadness that Dylan has been taken from us, it is such a short time to have our lovely handsome boy.

"He loved life, loved his job and loved his car and the freedom it gave him. Dylan had a wonderful summer, he played cricket for Sedgwick Cricket Club and was delighted to be picked as fielder of the year.

"He was full of fun, full of life and full of mischief and he will be painfully missed by all his family and many friends.”

Dylan was driving a green Vauxhall Corsa when it was involved in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Zafira, driven by a 52-year-old woman, near Crooklands on December 14.

The teenager was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital but died from his injuries on Friday (20).

His 15-year-old passenger remains in hospital.

The A65 was shut for nearly five hours and local fire crews and paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service were involved in helping the casualties.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact PC 1470 Davis at the Kendal Roads Policing Unit on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
