The team at South Lake-land District Council is looking forward to 2014 with keen anticipation.
It will be a pivotal year for our ambitions to tackle the two biggest issues facing us – providing more jobs and affordable homes.
Our newly-adopted local plan has allocated land for 5,277 new homes and 20 employment sites.
It’s a plan which will take ten years to fulfil but work will start on achieving our targets over the next 12 months.
It is vital that we make South Lakeland a place for everyone to live, work and explore.
That means enabling homes which families can afford and jobs for young people which allow them to build a future in the area. South Lakeland is a fantastic place.
We want to do everything in our power to ensure it continues to grow and flourish in a way which benefits all sections of our community.”
Lawrence Conway
Chief executive, South Lakeland District Council
