AN INCIDENT involving a man throwing objects from a Furness roof appears to have ended peacefully.

Police cordoned off an area around Hill Road in Barrow-in-Furness after reports of a man on a roof throwing objects - believed to be roof tiles - into the road.

Officers were called to the area following a call from a member of the public today at 3.26pm.

It is understood the man was on the roof for around four hours and that damage was caused to some vehicles parked in the road.

He was talked down and led away by officers.

Fire and ambulance service had joined police at the scene.
