APPLEBY-born TV personality Helen Skelton will be one of 16 celebrities rolling up their sleeves for The Great Sport Relief Bake Off this month.

The former Blue Peter presenter will be hoping to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry when the four-part series airs from January 13-16.

The celebrities will be put through their paces on signature, technical and showstopper bakes, and the best baker at the end of each episode will be crowned Sport Relief Star Baker.

Skelton said: "I decided to take part in the Great Sport Relief Bake Off because I'm absolutely rubbish at baking.

"All my friends and family laugh at anything I do in the kitchen, so I thought this might be a chance to redeem myself.

"I wished I'd practised more beforehand. When they said to me 'you've got to make a pizza' I thought they meant just put the toppings on a pizza, I didn't realise they meant make the dough and everything."

Among the famous faces she will be competing against are Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton, singer Michael Ball and former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan.

Olympic champion long-jumper Greg Rutherford, impressionist Alistair McGowan, Harry Potter actress Bonnie Wright, Desert Island Discs host Kirsty Young, Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner and singers Rochelle Humes, from The Saturdays, and Jamelia complete the line-up.
