IT has been a typical start to the year for one of England's busiest mountain rescue teams.

Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team, who last year clocked up 97 rescues, have already been called out twice in 2014.

On New Year's Day the team found a man who was reported to be missing near Wray Castle at around 8pm.

A today they were requested to help the North West Ambulance Service after a man slipped and sustained a lower leg injury while walking on Orrest Head, Windermere.
