SLIGHT delays should be expected on the A590 this morning while Cumbria Police transport a ship's rudder to Barrow.

The load will travel at normal road speeds, but its width may cause some traffic disruption.

A spokeswoman for the police said: "Drivers are asked to allow time for their journeys and police would like to thank them in advance for their patience."

The load will leave Burton Services on the northbound M6 at around 11am and will exit the motorway at junction 36.

It will then head west on the A590 towards Barrow, where it is expected to arrive between 12 and 12.30pm.
