IT’S comfy like a pair of shorts and appealing like a skirt...

The infamous Zara ‘skort’ dominated the high street for at least the last six months, and it doesn’t seem to be budging any time soon.

Everyone remembers the case of comfort meets style with the merge of jeans and leggings to create a pair of ‘jeggings.’ – Well, now we have the shorter version.

Necessity or not, the Skort is super-chic, reinvented fas part of the nineties sports-luxe attire, and why not admit it – the biggest fashion hit of 2013.

So here’s my favourite for the new season:

River Island sticks with directional design and androgynous appeal with this navy tartan smart skort for £28. It makes for a surprisingly versatile addition to your winter wardrobe and will see you through to early spring.

Featuring a rose gold tone zip detail, concealed zip back fastening and wrap round front, the design takes on a twist to the original style.

Another favourite is Topshop’s satin floral skort for £38 which edged away from tomboy tailored look that comes with the skort style - with an ultra feminine print and pretty colours.

And if you don’t quite know what to pair it with – don’t despair. I’m glad to say your skort will go with everything.

Whether it’s a baggy knit for colder days or a strappy cami and barely-there heels for a night on the town, your skort will never let you down.
