A WOMAN is due in court this week to face charges of allegedly shouting racist abuse and assaulting a police officer.
Hayley Smith, 32, of no fixed address, is due at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court on Friday January 17, said Lancashire Police.
She has been charged with one count of racially aggravated assault, one count of battery and one count of assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty.
The racially-aggravated charges and count of battery relate to an alleged incident on Tuesday December 17 of last year at a shop on Queen Street, Morecambe.
The charge of assaulting a police officer is alleged to have taken place on Monday December 30.
