TWO Kendal men were handed conditional discharges for using abusive language to a store manager in the Westmorland Shopping Centre.
South Lakeland Magistrates’ Court heard John Nicholson, 21, of Briarrigg in Kendal, and Jake Ogilvie-Booth, 20, of Stramongate, were helping a friend return a faulty iPhone to the EE (Everything Everywhere) outlet in the centre on September 28.
They admitted threatening staff after being told it was not the store’s responsibility, and were removed by security.
Paul Williams, in mitigation for Nicholson, said: “He was genuinely frustrated at the lack of acknowledgement shown by the store.”
Both men pleaded guilty and were ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
