KENDAL father who falsely claimed more than £2,000 in benefits was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
Paul McKnight, of Garden Street, pleaded guilty when he appeared at South Lakeland Magistrates’ Court to claiming job seekers allowance, council tax benefit and housing benefit totalling £2,608.80 despite being employed.
In mitigation Susie Kavanagh said McKnight was ‘extremely remorse-ful’ and had saved the money he believed he owed so that he could pay it back.”
McKnight was also ordered to pay £100 costs
