EDEN-based artist, Adam Clarke, has been selected as one of four shortlisted candidates for the IK Prize, presented by Tate Britain, celebrating creative talent in the digital industry. The winner will receive a prize of £10,000 and a £60,000 production budget to realise a digitally innovative project that will enhance people’s enjoyment of art. The winner’s work, along with presentations from those shortlisted, will be showcased at Tate Britain in 2014. The only rural and northern based contender, Morland-based Adam’s proposal, TateCraft, is an ambitious interactive Minecraft experience that takes the player on a journey of discovery through 500 years of British Art, creating an adventure in art and culture. TateCraft bridges the gap between traditional and digital art, gaming and education. Shortlisted entries are on display at Tate Britain and available online at www.tate.org.uk/about/projects/ik-prize/shortlist. The public can vote until January 24.
