A CORONER concluded that a fall suffered by a Bowness man in his own home led to his death.
John Bennett, 86, did not inform anyone about his fall but checked himself into Hollow Oak Nursing Home in Haverthwaite several days later.
He fractured three ribs, causing damage to his gall bladder and ultimately leading to multi-organ failure and sepsis.
Coroner Ian Smith said this was the cause of Mr Bennett’s death on July 21 at Furness General Hospital, Barrow.
A verdict of accidental death was recorded.
