POLICE are investigating an attempted burglary at Grasmere Post Office.

The alarms were activated at around 2am on January 14 when the offenders tried to get into the premises in Red Lion Square.

The attempt to gain entry was unsuccessful but the owners later discovered that a front window had been damaged.

Police are eager to identify the owner of a transit flatbed vehicle which was seen parked on Broadgate, Grasmere, at around 1.30am that morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ross Woods of South Cumbria CID on 101.
