A MAN has been arrested after a stand-off in Furness this afternoon.
The 30-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon, following a threat to officers on Thames Road, Walney Island.
Officers detained him by deploying tactical techniques.
Police used ‘less than lethal’ devices to cause distraction which enabled officers to de-arm and detain the individual.
The area is now re-open to the public.
Police thank everyone for their cooperation.
