HAWKSHEAD Brewery's Cumbrian Five Hop is Champion Beer of the North West.
It won gold in its category and was judged alongside nine other category winners to be declared Supreme Winner at the CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) competition, held at the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival.
“It is a thoroughly modern beer and we’re pleased to see that the judges appreciate it,” said Anne Jones, the brewery's sales manager.
“It is made, as is our way, with a blend of traditional English and modern American hops, five varieties in all,” she added.
