A YELLOW weather warning for snow for today (January 26) and Monday morning has been issued for Cumbria.
Strong gale force force winds and wet weather is also predicted by the Met Office.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “A band of rain and snow will cross Scotland and northern England on Sunday. The snow will affect the higher routes across central and southern Scotland and northern England with some drifting in the gale force winds which will accompany the snow.”
Although it is predicted that most snow will will clear on Sunday afternoon - sleet showers could result in difficult driving conditions throughout today and tomorrow morning.
“The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to travel as well as difficult driving conditions with a risk of blizzards at times,” said the spokesperson.
