ALMOST 300 walkers braved Sunday’s high winds and heavy rain to complete a gruelling walk.
‘That’s Lyth’ is the most popular annual challenge event for the Westmorland and North Lancashire Long Distance Walkers’ Association, and had 270 starters this year.
The route was 23.5 miles with an ascent of 3,200 feet and took walkers on a scenic route visiting Cunswick Fell, Whitbarrow Scar and Scout Scar.
The trek started at 8am and the first participant to finish was Rick Stuart, of Sedbergh, at 11.23am.
