THREE people were injured yesterday in a two vehicle road traffic collision after getting stuck in the snow at Kirkstone Pass.
Team members from Langdale and Ambleside (LAMRT) and Patterdale mountain rescue teams were called to assist paramedics, whose ambulance had also become stuck.
One person was evacuated with back injuries using a LAMRT stretcher, and there were two walking wounded.
Around ten other stranded motorists were evacuated from the road as it was blocked by the snow and crashed vehicles.
LAMRT said: “It would be fair to say that the road was not in any condition to be used before the collision occurred."
