A MOVE to scrap or simplify nearly 300 agricultural regulations will provide ‘a much needed boost to the rural economy across UK and particularly in Cumbria’, according to Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron.
Mr Farron, who is chairman on the All Party Parliamentary Group on Hill Farming, said: “I’m extremely pleased that the Government has made another important gesture towards farmers by removing layers of unnecessary and restrictive regulation. Scrapping or streamlining 300 rules will make a big difference.”
