A LANCASTER motorcyclist has died following a single vehicle collision in North Yorkshire.

The 32-year-old was riding a black Kawasaki motorcycle and was travelling north when he left the road and collided with a post on the B6480 at Buck Haw Brow, near Giggleswick.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision, which took place at around 3.55pm on Sunday.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information and want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle travelling along the B6480 prior to the crash.

The road was closed to allow collision investigators to examine the scene, and for recovery of the vehicle, and reopened at around 8.45pm on Sunday evening.
