TWO playground projects in South Lakeland are to get a cash injection.
Cumbria County Council’s South Lakeland Local Committee approved grants from its 0-19 years budget.
Kirkby Lonsdale Play Partnership is to receive £1,000 towards the purchase and installation of a climbing structure for the junior area of the town’s play park.
And Grange Prom Youth Club will also get £1,000 to help complete the final phase of the town’s skate park by installing a high quarter pipe.
Thel committee also agreed a £900 grant for Kendal Festival of Food, towards a food and drink-themed art installation project involving local primary schools.
Coun Shirley Evans, chair of the committee’s Children and Young People’s Working Group, said: “I’m delighted the committee is supporting these very worthwhile projects which I’m sure will be well used by young people.”
