POLICE have confirmed the identify of the man pulled from water at Askam Pier yesterday (Wednesday).
Peter Millican, aged 46, from Abbey Road, Barrow, was found in the water at 4pm.
Liverpool Coastguard contacted Furness Coastguard at 3.30pm after receiving a 999 call from a member of the public that a body was in the water at the end of the pier.
Furness Coastguard tasked Duddon Inshore Rescue to launch the Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) to search the area.
On scene the body was spotted floating south of the pier.
The IRB team recovered the body and brought it back to shore. Cumbria Police and the North West Ambulance Service both attended.
A police spokesperson said: "There are no suspicious circumstances at this time and details have been passed to the coroner."
