THE 129th Kendal Old Folks’ Treat for senior citizens of the town and surrounding area was a great success.
Held at Kendal Town Hall, the treat was originally organised for the aged people and widows of the town. It is sponsored by local businesses and Kendal Town Council.
Afternoon tea was served and there was entertainment by Maurice Wilson and Henry Bloem.
Prizes were presented by the Deputy Mayor of Kendal, Coun Tom Clare, to the oldest lady, Betty Soulby, 93, and the oldest men who were Morris Vincent Day and Gwrhyd Lewis, both aged 92.
