ALICE Longmire of Lowick tasted success in a ‘situations vacant’ competition organised by the Cumbria Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs.
She was one of six contest finalists who had to apply for a job vacancy or college course, which included sending a personal statement, CV and letter to two judges and then attending ‘interview’ at the George Hotel, Penrith.
Emma Metcalf, of Eden Valley YFC, came second in the competition with Martin Holliday of Egrement third.
The three will now compete for Cumbria against teams from the other five northern counties in a regional final at Longridge on March 1.
