A TOURIST attraction that hosted a BBC wildlife film crew has seen a boost in visitors since the show was screened.
Hidden Kingdoms, narrated by Stephen Fry, featured fascinating creatures like tree shrews and marmosets.
Some of the filming was done at Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, at Hale, near Milnthorpe, which introduces its visitors to an array of unusual small animals.
Wildlife centre boss Jo Marsden said: “Our smaller animals have always been a big attraction for regular visitors. “Creatures like tree shrews and marmosets can be especially active and so they're entertaining to watch.”
Hidden Kingdoms, shown over three episodes, finished with a documentary piece showing how some sequences were produced.
Marmosets were filmed living among the high telephone wires of Rio in Brazil. Then, to get the required close-ups, the crew went to Lakeland Wildlife Oasis.
Mrs Marsden said: “It was interesting to see how it all worked. And the marmosets didn't mind at all, they're curious about everything so they were happy to get involved."
