A WOMEN broke her leg after she slipped on frozen ground on Nab Scar, near Grasmere.

Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue team was called to help the woman just before 2.30pm yesterday (Friday).

A spokesperson said: "There was initial difficulty in working out where they were. Their starting point was initially reported inaccurately.

"We eventually worked out where they were and located them.

"Lack of suitable clothing for the wet, wintry conditions led both people to get very cold, and they should consider themselves lucky to have been located so quickly."

The rescue involved 14 team members for four hours, plus Kendal Mountain Rescue Team.
