DOZENS of volunteers shoveled some five metres of snow from a Lake District ski slope this weekend.
The Lake District Ski Club tow, on Raise, next to Helvellyn, was out of action after a heavy dumping of snow over the weekend.
The recent snowfall had buried huts and the ski tow.
Volunteers worked yesterday and today to clear the ski tow and it was working again by about midday today.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team warned on Saturday the avalanche risk in the area was high.
