Windermere man appears in court accused of Kendal rape

A MAN from Windermere has appeared before a judge at Carlisle Crown Court accused of rape.

Jake Sanders, 20, of Victoria Road North, Windermere, was charged after a 21-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted in Kendal the early hours of Sunday November 3 last year.

He is also charged with another sexual offence allegedly committed in Blackpool.

Sanders was due to enter pleas to the charges on Friday but the case was adjourned without him being asked to do so.

Prosecuting counsel Jacob Dyer said more time was needed for further investigations. Sanders was remanded in custody and will be back in court on March 4.
