BRITISH transport police officers have released a CCTV picture of a woman they want to speak to following an incident on a train between Ulverston and Roose.

Just after 6pm on Friday January 10, a woman boarded the Lancaster to Barrow-in-Furness service at Ulverston.

BTP say that when she was approached by the conductor and asked to show a ticket she became aggressive and verbally abusive.

PC Gez Cooper said: “The conductor was simply trying to do his job and had done nothing to provoke the abuse he received.

“The woman left the train at Roose, but I believe she intended to travel on to Barrow.”

Following the incident, officers studied CCTV and have managed to isolate the image of a woman they believe will have key information about the incident.

PC Cooper added: “I urge anyone who recognises the woman, or who has information about the incident, to come forward.”
