FREESTYLE skier Emma Lonsdale fulfilled her Olympic dream today but despite two strong runs in halfpipe qualification fell short of making the finals.
Settle-born Lonsdale – a member of Kendal Snowsports Club – recorded scores of 53.80 and 53.20 to finish 18th which was not enough to make the top 12.
"It was fun, a bit nerve-wracking but I enjoyed it and hope my family are proud of me," Lonsdale told the BBC.
Lonsdale went on to announce her retirement from the sport.
