RESCUERS were called to help a mountain biker who was injured after crashing while riding in the hills near Clapham earlier today (Saturday).
Members of Clapham Cave Rescue gave the 29-year-old man first aid before stretchering him a short distance to a team vehicle which took him to a road ambulance waiting in Clapham.
A rescue team spokesman said the accident occurred around noon in Long Lane and the mountain biker suffered injuries to his back and hip. His helmet was also damaged.
The incident took a total of 14 volunteer hours.
