POLICE are urging people to ‘be on the lookout’ for a man they believe has shoplifted alcohol from the Hawkshead area.

They say the male, who is described as black, six feet tall and of slim build, stole £200 worth of alcohol from a village shop in The Square sometime between 6 and 6.15pm on February 21.

He concealed the alcohol ‘on his person’.

Cumbria Police say he had sideburns and a moustache and was wearing a black bomber-style jacket, dark trousers and a peaked hat.

Anybody who has seen him, or who has information about him, is asked to contact PC Dyson at Windermere Police station on 101.
