LAKES Distillery founder Paul Currie will reveal the company’s plans for a visitor centre on the bank of the River Derwent this week.
He has been invited to deliver a presentation on the proposed development during Cumbria Tourism’s first commercial members’ meeting of 2014 at the Skiddaw Hotel, Keswick, on Thursday, from 11am to 1.30pm.
Cumbria Tourism managing director Ian Stephens said: “Commercial members’ meetings are a vital networking opportunity for both our members and the team to get together and share new ideas, keep up to date with key developments in the industry and have the opportunity to raise any issues that are concerning businesses across the county.”
Meanwhile, a team representing the Lake District’s leading tourism businesses are planning to set up a stand at the Best of Britain and Ireland Show in Birmingham on March 12 and 13 as part of the build up to English Tourism Week (March 29 - April 6).
