AMI Woodburn of Arnside is about to embark on her fifth charity run - and she is only nine.

She took part in her first Sport Relief Mile at the tender age of one and continued to participate at three, four, five and seven.

Mum Donna Fisher, who works at Lancaster University, said: “I’m so proud of her and I’m sure there aren’t many who have done this many so young.”

Now Ami is to tackle a three-mile run in Kirkby Lonsdale, accompanied by brother Archi, 4, who is running his second one mile.

The Arnside Primary School pupils will complete the run with mother Donna who has encouraged the pair to take part from the beginning.

Ami attends Brownies at Arnside, where her mum helps out, and hopes to achieve her sports badge by completing four weeks of training.

The siblings don’t do lots of sport, but they do enjoy raising money for charity in cake sales and other events.

“We always give to Sport Relief and Children in Need, so thought why not get involved in this one,” said Mrs Fisher.
