SHAME and embarrassment stops one in five North West parents from asking for advice about money problems, according to research published today by Action for Children.

John Egan, the charity’s operational director in Cumbria, said Action for Children provided advice on managing money through it children’s centres in Ulverston, Dalton and Barrow.
